  • Jungkook felt... odd. Okay, odd was an understatement. His hands were shaking, his teeth clattering together. It had been a week since he officially got told to go rot in Hell and die by Y/n (exaggerating, but close enough), but he was still thinking about her words. The way she composed herself and shot the sentence out, the bullet of her voice hitting his heart. He was in philosophy now, staring at her from across the way.
  • By no means did he feel bad about what he did, but he still was a gen z guy. He didn't like the thought of someone hating him, but that happened often considering he was the '*' type. Regardless, he only recalled having a handful of people hate him, and most of them were people who never interacted with him. Hana and Y/n, however, they were different. They hated him for his guts and his * tendencies.
  • Jungkook wasn't an *. He knew what he said to Y/n about only wanting to talk to her to get to Hana was a * move. Any day of the week he'd admit that was a * move, but that was how he was. Unapologetically himself: honest. He was honest, and she didn't like his honesty. Which, to be fair, a lot of people didn't like honesty in general. A lot of people couldn't handle the truth. But Jungkook understood where she was coming from, so he wasn't too mad about it. That was why he wasn't sitting by her anymore. Giving her space and being respectful despite how he was disrespectful before. But for some reason, he couldn't shake the sensation that something was about to happen...
  • The professor dismissed class, Jungkook hopping up and gathering his books. Y/n, on the other side of the class, was doing the same. Her eyes were on her sketchbook, her fingers tracing down it. Her lips were pursed in thought, and that was when Jungkook froze.
  • Oh. She was um... she was kind of pretty.
  • Jungkook bit back his realization and threw his backpack on his shoulders. Because he was so distracted by Hana's beauty, he didn't even see Y/n's. Now he was seeing it, and it made a sharp tinge of regret stab at his insides. He felt disgusted, mostly with himself. He even grimaced.
  • Y/n threw her sketchbook in her bag, Jungkook rounding the desks and timing it perfectly so they would meet at the door. She didn't even glance at him, Jungkook holding the door for her. She muttered a thanks, plopping her earbuds in her ears. Jungkook didn't want to seem creepy, but he followed her to the end of the lecture hall, Y/n either not noticing or not caring. So, he had to take things a step further. He ran up to her and tapped her shoulder.
  • Y/n
    Y/n
    "Go away Jeon."
  • She said it without even peeking at him, keeping her earbuds in. He swore he saw her turn up the volume too.
  • "I just wanted to say you look nice today."
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"I just wanted to say you look nice today."
  • She halted, taking out one bud and knitting her brows together.
  • Y/n
    Y/n
    "Excuse me?"
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"I know I'm an *, and I know you hate me for it, you have every right to, but I want you to know I would've never hurt Hana. She's a great person, really. Too good for me, I'll admit. Because of that, I didn't really think about you."
  • When she went to move away, he stepped closer.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"I promise there's a point to this. Come on, if you can trust one thing about me, can you trust that I'll be honest? Please?"
  • Y/n
    Y/n
    "Just this once. Go ahead."
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"You're beautiful, Y/n. I didn't notice it until now, and I'm sorry about that. I'm not sorry for being honest with you before, but I am sorry about how it made you feel. It was a * move."
  • Y/n
    Y/n
"No *. Using someone to get more information on their best friend is kind of rude, Jeon."
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"I know, but for whatever it's worth, whether we can ever speak again or not, I hope you know I'm sorry."
  • Jungkook shifted back on his feet, dipping his head in a half-nod half-bow motion. Y/n, however, grabbed his arm in a delicate manner. He nearly gasped at the contact, him meeting her eyes and falling into them in a way he couldn't describe.
  • Y/n
    Y/n
"For whatever it's worth, I'd say that was a damn good apology."
  • The urge to speak hit, but it took him a few seconds before he could regain his composure.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"Yeah well, I've certainly had a lot of practice at apologizing."
  • Y/n
    Y/n
"And that's what makes you human, just like how I am too. I'm sorry for completely blowing you off, and I'm glad you're kind of redeeming yourself. Only kind of, but you are."
  • Jungkook hid his blush behind the mask of a smile, his hands dripping with moisture.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"I'm glad that I'm not disappointing my dear Miss L/n."
  • Y/n
    Y/n
"Careful with the sweet names, Mr. Jeon. The police are only one call away. Don't go stalking me now, don't think I didn't notice you following me out of the classroom."
  • Y/n gave him a small smile that almost seemed like a smirk. She strolled away before he could reply. Jungkook was left there, speechless. Then, he planted his feet and left.
  • But little did he know, his story with Y/n was far from over yet...
